Super Note Game Collection
This series of failed prototypes, I mean this game collection, is about acoustic hero Super Note and his adventures around the world of Notes.
Super Note Fusion (2023)
A remake of the first level of my first game for its ten year anniversary.
- WASD/Arrows: Move Super Note (character in blue)
- IJKL: Move Apprenti Note (in red/yellow)
- Escape: Pause
Horns of Darkness (early 2024)
A warmup before the Ludum Dare 55. Codenamed "Fast", it is made in ~100 minutes. WASD/Arrows to move and jump.
Super Note Adventure (late 2024)
This one was made …relaxingly? in 20 days out of the allowed 30 for the FediJam.
You wake up in Sonatacity, only to stumble upon the world domination plan of two bandits known as the Elektrik Brothers. They want to convert all of the Notes into Elektriks in their image... and you as well.
- WASD/Arrows: Move and jump
- Down: hide
- Left click or 0 (zero): shoot
- Escape: Pause
Future projects???
As long as I don't finish a Super Note game project in a satisfying way (you know, dream game and all that), this page will update from time to time.

using 2 input methods for controls is never a good idea - got to first boss and gave up as its too awkward on a laptop ... fix that and it got potential
Thanks for the feedback. In my previous Super Note prototypes, I searched for better ways to do "platformer controls + shoot in any direction" controls on a laptop. Sometimes moving is tedious, other times shooting is awkward and imprecise. Do you have any games in mind that do it particularly well?
cant think of a particular game off the top of my head but using a direction key and somethimg like x to shoot at the same time to aim would be good enough i think ?
I guess it's more accessible, at the cost of precision. I think I'll go back to the prototyping phase or at least rebalance the difficulty / attack patterns / some of the level design once the new controls are decided. Maybe there's even some opportunity to make it more "musical instrument-like".
I uploaded a new version in which you can shoot with the 0 (zero) key (I guess because it was close to the arrow keys). You shoot forwards by default. Down+0 shoots up and Up+0 shoots down (so that double jumps are just as easy).
The game might still be a harder than with the mouse but not in a frustrating way anymore!
